
It’s all about the mixture of styles and music genres when it ocmes to the biggest money makers in music business this year.
Billboard has compiled their annual list of the highest earners taking into account tour earnings, CD and digital sales, publishing royalties, and other factors. This year’s list is “based on the artist’s share of revenue as opposed to total dollars generated by each artist in the ranking.”
Rock veterans U2 top the list of 40 best earning with more than $100 million earned this year. Material Girl Madonna makes it to the top 3 with a bit more than $47million, while Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers and Coldplay are included into the top 10.
And though it might sound surprising, Beyoncé Knowles comes 13th with $23 million, followed by Miley Cyrus (#15, $21m) and late Michael Jackson (#20, $17m).
